Madison's Daily Day

Ok, so I have told all of you time and time again that Madison loves to play dress-up. This not only means dress-up play clothes but her regular wardrobe as well. I have told some friend and family how many times a day I dress her. She is becoming more independent every day. I am not sure how I feel about that yet. So on a typical day Madison wakes up and jumps out of bed to get dressed. She takes off her pull up and wipes herself before she finds panties. (Very through kid!) Then she will find some regular clothes. Normally something that involves a dress and stockings. Here is today's pick....

And then this is what her room looks like when she is all dressed with out any help!
A few hours later we had to get ready for gymnastics. So wardrobe change again! We had more time this morning than usual before gymnastics because we woke up earlier than usual, I let Maddie go downstairs to paint. While she was down there she had to go to the bathroom. But she apparently needs an audience first. Here are a few pics of this...
Then while washing her hands after painting she managed to soak her sleeve just as we needed to leave the house. Here was the next outfit.

We were so early this morning that we went to Kmart before gymnastics. I am impressed with all I was able to do this morning all before 11:30am. As soon as we came home.. wardrobe change again....

She had to change again to go pick up the babysitter. So normal clothes again... then when I got home she was again in different clothes.

Now let me count... how many times did she change her clothes today? I think it was 6... and than pajamas that made 7. And I swear there are days that the play clothes are changed several times too. Ugh.... Anyone else have this problem with your 3 year old??

Dear Gabriel,

Gabriel has been asking to see Jade. Well, this is all you get! We tried!

One of my favorite things Maddie does...

I love to watch Maddie play all by herself. This usually consists of her dolls going in time out for getting in trouble or hitting. (The mirror of me is scary.) But anyhow.. I did manage to get some good video of her today.

Yeah... real snow!!

Today we finally had snow. I was so happy that Madison could enjoy some real snow this year, but it is hard for me with Savannah. Somehow I did a good job timing the playtime. We went out when Savannah had her morning nap. Then Savannah woke up and I bundled her up real fast for her short stint outside. Madison could have spent all day outside. We went out to play with our neighborhood friends. ( I will post cute pics of the kids if she says it is ok.)

Madison had more fun pulling Savannah and her friend than anything else.

Ok, So I had a small mishap with Savannah's snow clothes. I knew that Madison had a snow suit every year, but I keep forgetting how HUGE Savannah is compared to Maddie. (She is wearing 18M clothes at 7 M old.) I ran inside to get Savannah after her nap and threw her in this snowsuit. Whoops... it was 0-3 months size. Needless to say it was too small. Then, I bought her gloves in the beginning of the season and I tried to put them on her today and I could not even get 4 finger in the opening. So poor kid... was freezing and not too happy with me! Well, she was ok until she stuck her hand in the snow! I later dug out the next size snow suit and it is 24 Months and huge. So if we venture out into anymore snow... she will be swimming in the snow suit. Oh well, I will try better next year.

Just a Quick Maddie Story!

Today Madison's wheels were turning again. I let her have her scissors for a bit after school to cut paper. This she loves to do. Making confetti is about all she produces! Anyhow, I over heard her tell Savannah she wanted to make her a hair bow. Then, I heard something about a glue stick. I knew she did not have a glue stick, but it was a good idea to investigate anyway. I went into the room to find out she had used chapstick as a gluestick. She rubbed it all over the back of a piece of paper and stuck it to Savannah's head. I removed it too fast to take a picture, but it was kinda funny.

Then a few hours later I was sitting on the floor where I could see the coffee table surface at eye level. She had rubbed the chapstick all over the table top. I asked her why she did that and very matter of factly told me, "So her Barbie could ice skate." I have a hard time getting mad or punishing her when it really was a cleaver idea.

We have not really had any stories like that in a while so I thought I would share!

ITS A BOY!...we think

This was no surprise to me as I am sure was also not to you. I have been saying since week 6 that this was a boy. I feel totally different. I am not sick as I was with the girls. I am super tired, but was not with the girls. I am eating like a pig (normal) but not packing on the pound, yet, like I did with the girls. Weird how the differance of sex can make things so different from the get go. Anyhow, this is not set in stone yet. This is only my 12 week ultrasound. So don't buy anything blue for another 8 weeks when they can confirm this better. I have to say this is hard to do. Winter stuff is on sale and I think I am going to go blue wild at the first sign of a good sale. I am also welcoming blue hand-me-downs.

Well, I better go eat breakfast number 2 to make sure my boy is well nurished! Stay tuned in 8 weeks for the sex update!

And the results are.....

Today we had an ultrasound appointment. This is a routine test at 12 weeks. But they were able to give us a good guess of what we were having. But not to count on it until the 20 week ultrasound. We will have test results from todays ultrasound next week. Before we tell you what they told us I want you all to guess a little bit. As you all know Jeff is a girl maker and so far no boys in the family. Will Reed have his all girl basketball team?? Or will he have to ask Amy (or Chris..there is hope) to make him that girl to complete the team?? I will tell you after some good guesses!!!
Jeff just informed me that he has told some of you. So don't spill the beans yet!!!

Realizations!!

I first want to thank everyone for their comments on our BIG news. I have been overly tired which is why this blog is lacking. I know I need to play catch up. First I need to say that it is seasonable warm today and raining... why does that happen?? And the kids are sick. I need to get out of this house and I not only need warm, but I need healthy kids. Everyone pray for spring... we need it bad... not just the teases!!

So, yesterday I was having a hard time with a sick winey 3 year old so I decided to venture to the grocery store. This was such a challenge. Where do I put them that they will both be happy for a bit? Maddie was sick so I did not put her in the W-Kids room. I settled for Maddie in top basket of the shopping cart and Savannah in the Bjorn. This worked out great until check out. Getting the stuff out of the basket with a kid on your belly is not easy. I think people around me could see my frustrations and the sweat beading up on my face. A gentleman I know from church came to my rescue (thank you DM.) The cashier asked me if I needed a "helping hand." Some how we made it out alive and I sat down to relax my back in the car. And all I could do was laugh and say.... Oh, but next year it will be so much worse. I often think about AP when I am in these situations. I think I might know what twins feels like really soon. And there for I am "calling for help." Mom, Cindy... make room for me in your schedules. I need you! How the heck will I ever grocery shop with 3?? Oh, I wont. I will never take 3 anywhere by myself!!!

Part of my frustrations yesterday was that Madison would not keep her clothes on. I think by days end I had dressed her 8-10 times. Jeff and I had a chuckle last night when I was telling him about my day. I shared with him what the one outfit she changed into and he said she sported the same get-up on Sunday. She thinks she is so beautiful! (Ok, here comes the pole jokes again... poor kid)

Mind you it was cold and she was sick. I know... does not seem like it.

Today I was in the shower and started to chuckle that Madison is like the mouse in "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." Last week I got out of the shower and could not find her. I had forgotten to close the gate and after many paniced yells for her I found her in the in law suite bathroom washing her hands. If you don't know my house, it is very far away and almost soundproof! I later realized that she had opened my hall closet and found some bath and body works hand soap but could not open it. I found the soap in our upstairs bathroom. She remembered that there was soap like that down stairs so she made the treck to use the soap she origionally wanted. And she has done this before, that one silly thing trips her memory to remember another and another. She always keeps me smiling and on my toes.

I feel like I don't mention Savannah too much. She is sitting up now for a minutes or two. She loves her new dolly from grandma C, she has begun bto talk....dadada, and she is eating solids. Not too exciting, but she is doing well and we love to watch the two girls interact with eachother!!
